Hello, fellow travelers! Scotty and Eve here, bringing you another installment from our travel diary. This time, we’re taking you to the breathtaking Zion National Park, and more specifically, to the famed Narrows. Unfortunately, our adventure had a twist, but more on that later. First, let’s talk tech.
As you know, we’re all about utilizing the best gadgets to enhance our travel experiences. For this trip, our arsenal included:
- GoPro Hero 8: Our trusty companion for capturing those stunning views in high-definition detail.
- Battery Charger & Extra Batteries: Essential for any tech-savvy traveler. We always carry a charger and spare batteries to ensure our tech is juiced up and ready to capture every moment.
- Chest Strap GoPro Holder: A hands-free way to capture video, this accessory is particularly useful when navigating more challenging terrains.

Now, on to our experience.
Zion National Park is a treasure trove of stunning vistas, with the Narrows being one of its most exciting highlights. It’s best to have a National Park yearly pass, especially if you plan to make more than one visit a year to any national park. We purchased the $80 pass, and it was worth every penny.

Arriving at the park, we parked at the visitor center and took the shuttle to the Narrows stop. Be prepared for a mile’s walk to the actual start location.
Now, here’s where our adventure took an unexpected turn. Due to increased water levels, the hiking portion of the Narrows was closed. However, we weren’t too disheartened. There was still plenty to enjoy, from taking some amazing photographs to immersing ourselves in the peaceful ambiance of the flowing water.
The lesson here? Always check the National Park Service website for updates on trail conditions. While we weren’t able to hike the Narrows due to its closure during our three-week stay, we still had a memorable time in the park.
Zion National Park’s beauty is a sight to behold, and although we were unable to hike the Narrows, it just means we have a reason to return. Until next time, remember to travel with an open mind and a fully charged gadget arsenal!
Stay tech-savvy, and travel happy!
